For my last blog post,

I wanted to try something creative and fun.

So, I used the website Polyvore.com, which is the perfect place
to discover or start fashion trends. It allows users to browse and
shop looks created by a global community of independent
trendsetters and stylists. Users can also create their own looks and
post them for everyone to see. I have created a set, which I
call The Perfect Summer Outfit. I can later create more sets like
this one and eventually form a collection.

My outfit is a perfect combination of all the things I would love to
wear on an ideal day this summer.

Post #9- New Fashion Show Formats

This past January, fashion PR power house KCD did something that no one expected. They launched a new,  ground-breaking fashion show platform, that they thought might revolutionize the way fashion is seen  (while making our lives easier).
The company introduced digital fashion shows. These are online-only shows for buyers and members of the press.
This new format was launched on February 15th, 2012 showing Prabal Gurung’s inaugural lCB collection for Onward Kashiyama.
The digital fashion show offers way more than just a live stream. The shows are pre-taped, then scheduled to air online at a specific time (though we can watch them any time after), viewable via computer, iPad, or iPhone, to anyone with a username and password. They’re also embeddable, so they can be shared, too. And to make our lives even easier, show information appears alongside each look and you can select favorites, type notes and view front, back and detail shots.
They also provide a video in which the designer discusses inspiration, a bio, credit information, beauty details, images and transcripts.
This solves just about every fashion week dilemma there is.

I couldn't find any videos of the Prabal Gurung show, so here is See by ChloƩ fall 2012 digital fashion show:

I personally really enjoy look books. I think that they are so useful, helpful, and extremely important for companies to have. I really love seeing different garments that a look book puts together and how the clothing and accessories are styled on a model. I draw so much inspiration from look books and it makes putting an outfit together so easy.

One look book that I have been looking at online on Shopbop.com is the Tibi spring/summer 2012 collection. This new collection is smart and beautiful and I love it for this spring.
What makes online look books so great on this website, is that you can click on the picture for each look, and it gives you each garment and accessory and the prices, so you can order everything right there on the spot.

Here are some different trends seen in the Tibi look book:

The trendy maxi skirt is seen here paired with the season's key color: tangerine
Draped dresses are huge for this season, especially in another tangerine shade

Another key color, aqua, is seen here paired with bold printed shorts
This pleated dress is so trendy for this season because of it's light and breezy material
