Recently on the streets of New York City, I have been seeing a lot of fur.
Everyone from students to older women have been wearing this new trend and it is everywhere!
I love fur because it is so stylish and can make anyone look wealthy, even when their fur isn't real.

Post #2- Key Fashion Week Trend

During the Fall/Winter 2012 Fashion Week, one trend has become very apparent. The Military Inspired Look has been hitting the runway at the shows of many prominent designers this week. The Military look encompasses the use of big gold buttons, trench coats, and big shoulders. Many designers, such as Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Victoria Beckham, Prabal Gurung and Rag & Bone, have utilized components of the Military Look in their collections for Fall and Winter 2012.

In Alexander Wang's show,  top model Gisele Bundchen looked fierce as she walked the runway in a rough looking leather trench coat, slit skirt and knee high boots.

Jason Wu also showcased chic military inspired looks at his show. His models walked the runway sporting green, black and red colored garments featuring sharp shoulders, gold buttons, fur and big black belts.

Victoria Beckham utilized the Military Look in a sleek and fitted way. Her models walked the runway in a no-nonsense, tough-girl collection for the Fall. Military inspired elements that Victoria used were shiny python shirt-style collars on second-skin dresses with gold hardware and zip-back striped sheaths. Victoria also used harness-style backs on dresses that had high necks in the front.

Sharp, edgy black outfits with strong silhouettes, slashed sleeves and high-gloss patent leather were seen at the Prabal Gurung show. The models walked in narrow trousers with boot-leg bottoms. Their military inspired coats were long,  lean and chic.

Lastly, Rag & Bone
took traditional military elements and put them through a feminine filter. Epaulets and big buttons were visible in the military looks. But, instead of looking stiff and formal, there was a luxe feel to the clothing, which was tailored and tapered.
